POSITION SUMMARYThe Chief Financial & Strategy Officer (CFO) is responsible for leading the financial management, capital allocation strategy, and corporate development activities of BioUrja Group. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership, ensuring financial discipline while driving growth through mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, partnerships, and operational initiatives. The CFO owns the full lifecycle of capital deployment, from evaluation through execution and integration, with accountability for value creation across the enterprise.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, and financial risk management.
- Lead enterprise capital allocation strategy across acquisitions, organic growth initiatives, and operational investments.
- Evaluate portfolio performance and recommend strategic actions including acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring opportunities.
- Lead end-to-end M&A processes including sourcing, financial modeling, valuation, due diligence, negotiation, and execution.
- Lead the development and execution of strategies to maximize the value of 45Z tax credits, transferable tax credits, environmental attributes, and other incentive programs through effective structuring, monetization, and capital deployment.
- Structure and execute strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and investments.
- Own post-close integration efforts, including synergy tracking and value realization.
- Establish integration playbooks and KPIs to monitor financial and operational performance.
- Partner with operations leadership to evaluate CapEx, debottlenecking, and asset optimization initiatives.
- Lead cross-functional teams.
- Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions, advisors, and industry stakeholders.
- Prepare and present financial and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
- Leverage AI and advanced analytics tools to enhance financial modeling, forecasting, and investment decision-making.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics; and an MBA, CPA, or CFA
- 15+ years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or a related field.
- Deep knowledge of oil & gas markets, capital formation, tax-advantaged investment structures, renewable fuel incentives, and energy-related financing transactions.
- Proven ability to lead complex financial operations and execute strategic transactions.
- Experience in energy, commodities, or trading environments strongly preferred.
- Strong expertise in financial modeling, valuation, capital allocation, and strategic analysis.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and driving organizational outcomes.
- Advanced business acumen with strong negotiation and deal execution capabilities.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and detailed execution levels in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and advanced analytics tools to enhance financial and strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence executive leadership.
