Position:Chief Estimator

Compensation:$95,000 - $110,000
About The Role Reports directly to the Director of Estimating. The Chief Estimator is responsible for supporting, guiding and mentoring Estimators and managers on day-to-day activities to help deliver a strong bid proposal.
Duties are responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Assist the Director of Estimating in mentoring and supporting the Estimating Team to balance workloads;
- Supports the Director of Estimating in setting priorities, schedules and resource planning;
- Oversee preparation of detailed Estimates for all scopes;
- Support the Team in reviewing drawings and specifications;
- Participate in complex or high value Estimates as a technical resource;
- Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Procurement and Operations to support the alignment of the Estimates with the Estimating Team;
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, scope reviews, and value engineering discussions;
- Support handoff from Estimating to Project Teams upon award;
- Identify opportunities to improve Estimating efficiency, accuracy and consistency;
- Support development and maintenance of Estimating databases, assemblies and historical cost data;
- Support team with evaluating project risks, exclusions, clarifications and assumptions;
- Assist in post-bid and post project reviews to improve future estimates;
- Coach and develop Estimators through training and feedback;
- Support a collaborative, accountable and high performance team culture; and
- Any other tasks assigned by the Director of Estimating.
Requirements & Qualifications Education- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architectural Technology and Construction Management; and
- Construction Estimation Certification is an asset.
Years of Experience - Minimum 5+ years of working experience in Estimating Window Wall, Curtain Wall, Railing Systems and Metal Cladding; and
- Minimum 3+ years of experience supervising a team within an Estimating or Construction environment.
