Full Job Description
Position Overview

The Chief Dental Officer is responsible for the administrative management of the Dental Department and the quality of care delivered within the Dental Department. Responsible for promoting health, providing dental diagnostic and treatment services, establishing and maintaining an individual treatment plan for each patient.

THIS POSITION OFFERS A 40-HOUR WORKWEEK, NO WEEKENDS, FULL BENEFITS PACKAGE, 12 PAID HOLIDAYS, BI-WEEKLY PAY.

Essential Tasks
  • CLINICAL
    • Assess the dental status and disease processes of the patient.
    • Obtain complete and pertinent history for new patients, including but not limited to prescription medications and chronic conditions.
    • At recommended intervals, according to acceptable dental standards, perform appropriate examinations on patients of all types.
    • Perform problem specific examinations for patients, as appropriate.
    • Diagnose and treat dental problems based on clinical findings.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE
    • Work in close collaboration with the Dental Practice Manager in carrying out the goals and objectives of the department.
    • Precept students, according to CFHC protocol, and provides appropriate supervision and communication with the dental team.
    • Actively participate in departmental meetings and CIT meetings, supporting the development and enforcement of policies and procedures.
    • Assist the Board of Directors in fulfilling its responsibility for privileging of provider staff; recommending privileges and evaluating performance of dental providers.
    • Contribute to the organization of and/or participate in community outreach opportunities, including outreach to migrant farmworkers.


Experience and Education
  • A degree from an accredited school of dentistry.
  • Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of North Carolina.
  • Minimum five years of previous related dental management experience.


Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

Thursday, 8 am - 7 pm, 8-hour shift, day shift

Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking, occasional bending, stooping, lifting, reaching forward and overhead.
  • May occasionally be required to lift patients, office equipment and paper, usually not exceeding fifty pounds of direct lift.
  • Frequent computer work required.

Base Pay Overview

The starting pay for this position is $176,750.00 annually. Please keep in mind that actual salary will vary based on various factors such as qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
