Full Job Description
• U.S. Citizenship
• Position is designated special-sensitive and requires a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed. Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret w/SCI clearance.
• May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
• May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
• Employee will be required to attend periodic command and/or civic related social functions and related events after normal duty hours.
• Carries a government provided cell phone or blackberry off duty and may be recalled to duty.
• This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions present a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. It is required that you (a) refrain from the use of illegal drugs and (b) if requested, submit to urinalysis testing.
• This position is designated a "key" position in accordance with AFI 36-507. Duties of this position are essential to the accomplishment of wartime/contingency operations. Incumbents of key positions must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling of the position during an emergency are not available.
• Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.

RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):
• Knowledge of protocol principles, methods, applications, established practices, interpersonal relations, and accepted management techniques.
• Knowledge of Protocol directives, instructions, and policies.
• Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
• Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of protocol and distinguished visitor programs.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individual or groups interested in or affected by programs and creating meaningful interchanges among concerned parties.
• Skill in hosting distinguished visitors and influential groups from diverse, cultural, religious, ethnic, and national backgrounds as well as senior positions.
• Skill in using office software applications and the Internet to support the distinguished visitor program.
• Ability to accurately relay messages to visitors through an integrated visit program that properly represents the command.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to advise senior military officers and civilian officials and other protocol offices, government agency heads, and region and component commanders on aspects of protocol programs, recommend strategies, and establish standards for the development and evaluation of long-range protocol and distinguished visitor programs.
