ATI is seeking to hire a Chemical Manufacturing Engineer to support our Specialty Alloys and Components business unit. This role will be based in Millersburg, OR.
A Chemical Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for partnering with operations, maintenance, reliability, R&D, and engineering to drive improvement in production process efficiencies and safety performance through the implementation of innovative technologies and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is also responsible for leading mid- to long-term improvement initiatives and provides support for troubleshooting operational issues.
Primary Responsibilities
• Lead mid- to long-term improvement initiatives that focused on enhancing production
performance, safety, and process reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate the execution of the Business Technology
Implementation Plan (BTIP), ensuring the effective implementation of new technologies and
improvement projects to drive resource utilization for growth and innovation.
• Ensure that all process improvements, technologies, and changes are thoroughly documented for
future use and knowledge retention within the team.
• Maintain an understanding of PSM elements to ensure projects and operations align with safety
regulations and compliance standards.
• Conduct process analysis to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation
• Provide operational troubleshooting support to minimize downtime and disruptions
• Offer mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Background in manufacturing processes and the use of methodologies to optimize production
systems.
• Familiarity with PSM regulations and elements
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to address operational needs and improvement
goals.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement
effective changes.
• Experience leading improvement projects and mentoring junior engineers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive change.
