Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a Floor Nurse with Charge Nurse responsibilities for the 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shift and will include a shift every other weekend. The nurse is responsible for delivering skilled nursing care for our veteran residents.

Job Duties

  • Administer medications and treatment accurately for assigned residents.
  • Consult with physicians; receives, records and implements orders and schedules appointments.
  • Document residents' health changes via acute care nurse's notes and shift change nursing reports.
  • Formulate plans of care for new residents and prepares all required reports and documentation.
  • Conduct daily rounds; observing and evaluating the physical and emotional status of assigned residents and taking necessary actions to ensure their health and well-being.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for nursing care; consulting with Nursing Supervisor/Unit Manager as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be licensed as a Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in Virginia.

Additional Considerations

  • Nursing experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.
