Reporting tothe Nursing Director or Manager, this position requires the full understandingand active participation in fulfilling the mission of Redlands CommunityHospital. It is expected the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with ourStandards of Performance. The Charge Nurse adheres to the Patient's FirstPhilosophy of Safety, Compassion, and Efficiency. S/he is able to coordinatecare not only for individual patients, but also to lead the care delivery ofmultiple patients in the nursing care area in accordance with policies andprocedures of the Hospital. S/he collaborates with other professionaldisciplines/unit leaders to ensure safe and effective patient care delivery.S/he is responsible for assigning nursing personnel to specific patients forwhom they will care for based upon their skill, experience and temperament, andthe acuity of the patients. This position serves as resource of information andcoordinates all activities within the department. Responsibilities and relatedduties to be carried out by the Charge Nurse as delegated by the Nurse Managerwith the appropriate level of authority and ability to utilize independentjudgment to ensure compliance. *Ability to meet all job & physicalrequirements as outlined in job description or as agreed through a work placeaccommodation. 1. Current CA State licensure as a Registered Nurse required. 2. Current CPR Certification required. 3. Current ACLS Certificate required. 4. Current PALS or ENPC certificate required within 3 month of hire. 5. Current MICN license preferred at hire, required within 1 year of hire. 6. Current MAB certificate required within 6 months of hire. 7. Current NIHSS certificate required within 6 months of hire. 8. EMTALA education required (Must have 8 CEU's every two years) 9. CEN preferred. 10. BSN preferred, MSN desirable. 11. Demonstrated expertise in the clinical area, and leadership ability preferred. 12. Must be proficient in Word, XLS, and email functions.
