Position: CGI Visual Specialist

Position Location: Remote - work virtually from anywhere in the United States

Job Summary

The CGI Visual Specialist is responsible for translating complex engineering and data center designs into high-quality 3D visualizations, animations and presentation assets.

This role supports project teams, business development and leadership by producing clear, visually compelling representations of mechanical systems, infrastructure layouts and data center proposals. The position bridges the gap between technical engineering data and effective visual communication.

Essential Functions

Visualization Production

  • Develop high-quality 3D renderings and animations to communicate design intent.
  • Create visual outputs ranging from quick-turn proposal graphics to high-end photorealistic imagery.
  • Produce animations illustrating system functionality, construction sequencing and spatial relationships.

3D Modeling & Asset Creation

  • Build accurate 3D models of mechanical systems, equipment and data center environments.
  • Convert and optimize Revit models for visualization workflows.
  • Develop reusable, parametric models for internal equipment libraries.

Technical Interpretation

  • Interpret engineering drawings and BIM models to ensure visual accuracy.
  • Collaborate with engineers to resolve missing or unclear design information.
  • Maintain alignment between visualization outputs and engineering intent.

Model & Data Optimization

  • Clean, organize and optimize imported geometry for performance and usability.
  • Maintain structured scenes and adhere to naming and file organization standards.
  • Ensure efficient rendering performance without compromising visual quality.

Asset Library & Standards

  • Maintain and expand the company's 3D asset library.
  • Develop templates and standardized visualization setups.
  • Support consistency across projects, proposals and marketing materials.

Presentation & Proposal Support

  • Create and enhance 3D visuals for client presentations and proposals.
  • Support the visual storytelling of each project.
  • Elevate the quality and clarity of client-facing deliverables.


What Success Looks Like

  • Build and refine models from AutoCAD & Revit inputs.
  • Create materials, lighting setups and render compositions.
  • Generate still images and animations for active projects.
  • Optimize geometry and organize scene files.
  • Coordinate with project teams to align visuals with design intent.
  • Fulfill Visual Support requests for Project Details and Project Visuals.


Position Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Visualization, Graphic Design, Architecture, Engineering Technology, Digital Media, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in 3D visualization, architectural visualization, CGI production, or a related discipline.
  • Experience creating visual content for engineering, construction, manufacturing, architecture, or data center environments preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in:
    • 3ds Max
    • V-Ray Render Engine
    • AutoCAD (2D/3D)
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere)
    • Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • 3D modeling, lighting, materials, and rendering workflows
    • Animation fundamentals, including keyframing, sequencing, and optimization


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Revit and BIM workflows.
  • Familiarity with ITOO Forest Pack Pro and RailClone Pro.
  • Exposure to real-time visualization tools such as Unreal Engine, Enscape, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting AEC, MEP, mission-critical, or data center projects.
  • Experience creating visual assets for proposals, client presentations, and business development pursuits.

  • Sample images demonstrating modeling, rendering, and visualization capabilities.

Candidates for this role must also provide:

  • Screenshots of working 3D models, scene setups, or visualization workflows.
  • Examples demonstrating progression from model development through final rendered output.
  • Evidence of ownership of the underlying 3D models used to create portfolio work.

Candidates who cannot demonstrate actual 3D modeling work through working model examples, scene files, or workflow screenshots will not be considered for interview.

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 5%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states.
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meeting for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.
