About the Position

Groome Industrial Service Group is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the company's financial strategy, operations, reporting, and capital planning. This executive leader will serve as a key business partner to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors, private equity sponsors, and the broader leadership team.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in financial planning and analysis, operational finance, cash management, lender and investor relations, M&A support, systems implementation, and team leadership within a growth-oriented, project-based business environment

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance reporting to support executive decision-making.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations with a focus on operational efficiency, profitability, and scalable processes.
  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity strategies in support of growth initiatives and operational needs.
  • Serve as the primary finance liaison with private equity sponsors, lenders, the Board of Directors, and investors.
  • Prepare clear, concise financial reports, board materials, investor presentations, and lender updates.
  • Lead financial due diligence for potential acquisitions and support post-acquisition integration planning.
  • Develop financial models to evaluate acquisition targets, synergy opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
  • Spearhead the implementation and optimization of financial systems, including ERP solutions.
  • Develop and monitor financial and operational KPIs, including labor utilization metrics in a project-based business model.
  • Lead cost management and efficiency initiatives across procurement, expense management, and operations.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through appropriate controls, compliance practices, and insurance strategies.
  • Support exit strategy planning, including financial readiness for due diligence, potential sale, or IPO scenarios.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance team.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Chief Financial Officer or VP of Finance, or senior finance executive in a growth-oriented organization.
  • Strong background in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and operational finance.
  • Experience working with private equity sponsors, boards, investors, and lenders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead M&A financial due diligence and support integration planning.
  • Experience implementing or optimizing ERP and financial systems.
  • Strong understanding of cash management, working capital, financial controls, compliance, and risk management.
  • Ability to develop meaningful financial and operational KPIs and translate insights into business recommendations.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building, developing, and mentoring finance teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to executive, board, investor, and lender audiences.
