Position Highlights:
Specialty: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
Competitive Pay: $45-$50/ hr (approx.$93,600 - $104,000 Annual Salary)

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm 5x 8s
Hours: 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:
  • Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board.
  • Treat patients per the physician treatment plan.
  • Assist nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
  • Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problem and plans.
  • Participate in in-services training program for other staff in the facility.
  • Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, recertification documentation, per Occupational Therapy Board State Practice Act and governmental and third-party payer requirements.
  • Record treatment changes per policy and procedures.
  • Instruct patient's families or nursing staff in maintenance program and caregiver training in preparation for discharge from therapy services. Participate in discharge planning.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area.
  • Report any problems with department equipment so that it is maintained in good working order.
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with patients/residents, families, staff and professional colleagues.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • New Grad Friendly
  • 1 or more years of Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant experience preferred
  • Active California Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) License and in good standing.
  • Active BLS Card Required AHA or ARC
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in wound care, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facility (preferred but not required).
  • Certification in wound care (e.g., WCC, CWS, CWPT) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid guidelines for wound care services in skilled nursing facilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong clinical reasoning, patient education, and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
