Certified Millwright

Lavington, British Columbia

We're looking for a Certified Red Seal Millwright to join our innovative lumber mill located near Vernon, British Columbia. Our Lavington Division is where Tolko's story began over 70 years ago. Today, at Lavington, we safely and sustainably produce 238 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Certified Millwright with valid Interprovincial Red Seal Certification.
  • Demonstratedcommitment to working safely.
  • Hydraulic systems troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability or read blueprints, plans and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Organizational and planning skills.
  • Experience with CMMS systems and JD Edwards are considered assets.
  • Previous experience in a forest products environment considered an asset.


In this role you will:

  • Work with ahigh-performance teamdedicated tomaintaining all mill machineryincludingpumps, conveyors, compressors, mechanical systems, rollers and chains, bearings and hydraulic systemsinvolved in the manufacturing process.
  • Performpreventative and predictive maintenance. This includesinspecting machinery and equipmentto detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to assemble equipment and follow work procedures & processes;
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the assembly, installation, set-up, and repair of equipment and machinery;
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions;
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, lubricate, and perform maintenance work on machinery;
  • Find safe, creative ways toboost equipment reliability and streamline our processes.
  • Share your knowledgewith the next generation of maintenance rockstars - our Apprentices.
