Job DescriptionJMT's Virginia Beach office is seeking a Section Head to lead their CEI Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for business development, financial success, and managing staff for the discipline at the local level.
Compensation for this position is $150,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders
- Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development
- Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly
- Lead and contribute to the production of proposals
- Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff
- Establish resources staffing needs for the section
- Interview and hire staff for the section
- Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Required Experience- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
- 10+ years' experience in specialized discipline
- Project management and business development experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Qualifications Preferred- Experience working with local VDOT and municipal clients
- Project Controls experience
- Professional Engineer License or equivalent, preferred
- Supervisory experience
Working ConditionsWork is generally performed within a general office environment but may require visits to projects to support field staff. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Personal projective equipment is required when on a project site.
