Full Job Description
The Manager of Invasive Lab works with medical staff/professionals in various departments such as cardiology, radiology, vascular surgery, trauma services and oversees the daily clinical operations of the invasive labs (Cath, EP, Device, Hybrid and Interventional Radiology). Ensures the highest level of quality care to patients.

GENERAL DUTIES
  • Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entities with other departments/service lines/entities and with the system's primary functions.
    Maintains close coordination with all departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services.
    Assists in developing policies and procedures specific to cardiovascular services and directs those to the appropriate committees for review and input.
    Collaborates with medical directors to promote physician engagement.
  • Provides supervision and direction to team leaders in managing recommended staffing levels, staff assignments, performance evaluations, tests and competencies (as applicable), orientation, training and continuing education of staff.
  • Evaluates quality of patient care by conducting patient rounds, patient interviews, direct staff observation and review of clinical documentation.
    Assists with ACC data collection process in the Cath Lab.
    Troubleshoots x-ray, monitoring, computer, digital and other associated equipment used to perform cardiac catheterizations, temporary pacemakers and associated procedures. Maintains and develops new protocols and procedures as new technology and equipment.
    Engages in process improvement activities within the service line.
  • Assists department leader with collecting, completing and submitting quality and performance improvement data.
    Maintains departmental reports, records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
    Develops budget(s) for the department/unit/entities and allocates funds within budget(s) to accomplish objectives. Monitors variance against budget(s).
    Develops, establishes and implements goals, objectives, policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation.
  • Establishes and maintains department/entity safety, environmental and/or infection control standards.
    Assesses and works to improve the department/service line/entity/system's performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).
  • Assists the inventory and supply chain staff in managing purchased and consignment products assuring system conformity and revenue capture.
  • Assists the supervisor with daily staffing and ensuring the after-hours call rotation meets departmental needs and flexes to meet changes in census.


EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3 years Invasive Cardiology or Interventional Radiology (UMC)


EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Required: Associates degree from an accredited institution or two-year certification program in accredited Radiologic Technology or equivalent (including training from United States Armed Forces).
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
