A Category Buyer providesexpertise insupplyingnetwork solutions, applyingQuality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM)principles to maximizevalue.

What you will do:

  • Primaryresponsibility:managingindirectONLYprocurement for SPM Fort Worth Main,TX,andthe North LakeDistribution Centerin TX.Support includes all collaborative functions (Engineering,Operations, HR, Finance, Accounting, Facilities, Security, Cafeteria, Cleaning, Grounds care, Maintenance, IT and MRO items, ~$40M spendand~500 vendors)
  • Developing, managing,and executing the category strategy,managing policies, agreements, source catalogs, and special procurement programs.
  • Recognizing the potential for cost decreases, inventory reductions,and quality improvement, as well as responsibility forthesoundness of business proposals and risk assessment.
  • Acting as the liaison between the organization and the supplier to communicate explicitly, while considering production demands and suppliers' conditions.
  • Documenting the suppliers' performance on timesensitivityand production;maintaininga strong relationship with suppliers.

What you will have:

  • Data Analytics: Knowledge of techniques and processes for inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling data; ability to discover useful information, draw logical conclusions, and support decision-making.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groupsconstructively and collaboratively.
  • Purchasing Tasks and Activities: Knowledge of policies, regulations,and processes of purchasing; ability to use practices and procedures for procurement of materials, components, equipment,and services.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Knowledge of supplier relationship managementconceptsand strategies; ability to address critical issues to meet supplier needs and maintainanengaged, partnering relationship with suppliers.

    Summary Pay Range:

    $89,210.00 - $133,810.00

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location,job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
