Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geological, Civil, Mining Engineering or equivalent experience needed.
• Understanding of Tailings and Heap Leach operations and construction essential.
• Professional Engineer designation is a plus.
• 10 years in mining or a related industry preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the responsible tailings facility engineer for South Area facilities.
• Assist in budget planning and work plans for TSF/HLF management.
• Oversee one support engineer in operations.
• Coordinate and communicate with various site and corporate leadership.
• Review and ensure the accuracy of water and tailings deposition models.
• Evaluate engineering designs, site investigation plans, and technical reports.
• Manage external consultants, including engineers of record for each facility.
• Stay updated on geotechnical and tailings engineering practices.
• Contribute to technical evaluations and risk assessment processes.
• Create and oversee corrective action plans and control management for TSFs/HLFs.
• Ensure compliance with Barrick standards and regulations.
