Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geological, Civil, Mining Engineering, or related field required.
• In-depth knowledge of tailings and heap leach operations and construction needed.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation preferred.
• 10-15 years of relevant mining or related industry experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills essential.
• Teamwork ability is a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a site team including a superintendent and support engineers.
• Serve as the Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer (RTFE) for North Area facilities.
• Develop and oversee internal budgets and work plans for TSF/HF operations.
• Maintain communication with site and corporate personnel for specialist reviews.
• Coordinate with various site departments and leadership.
• Evaluate water and tailings deposition models for accuracy and reporting.
• Review engineering designs, construction packages, and technical reports.
• Manage and coordinate activities of external consultants and engineer-of-record.
• Stay updated on advancements in geotechnical and tailings engineering practices.
• Conduct technical evaluations and participate in risk assessment planning.
• Develop and manage corrective action and critical controls management plans.
• Ensure compliance with Barrick standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee facility inspections and integrate reclamation requirements into designs.
