Job SummaryUnder the general supervision and direction of the Cardiac Cath Lab Manager or Charge Nurse operates the x-ray equipment involved in performing a cardiac catheterization in accordance with the New York State Radiology Standards. Also renders direct patient care in accordance with the Code of Ethics for nurses, and standards of care, mission and philosophy, and hospital policies and procedures.
Core Job Responsibilities- Responsible for operating the x-ray equipment
- Assists the cardiologist and nurse in delivering direct patient care
- Functions in sterile field environment: setting up tables, prepping patients and scrubbing/assisting cardiologist.
- Operates hemodynamic monitors, computers, runs tracing and documents events during procedures
- Assists in restocking in the unit
- Assists the CV-RN in aspects of the nursing process to direct patient care through observation, assessment and implementation.
- Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience RequirementsREQUIRED:- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiology
- One year working in a Radiologic field
- Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
