Your Opportunity:The Cardiac Diagnostics department within SHC is currently recruiting a Cardiology Technologist II. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Cardiac Diagnostics and Clinics, the Cardiology Technologist II is a supervisor position that includes leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Electrocardiography department and team. They are responsible for the performance of various cardiac tests, understanding and recognizing the pathophysiology associated with these test results, and processing the resulting data. Specifically, the Cardiology Technologist will: Demonstrate proficiency and prioritization in performing electrocardiograms (ECGs). Apply, process and review the data associated with Holter and event monitors. Apply blood pressure monitors. Work collaboratively with various practitioners to facilitate stress testing. The Cardiology Technologist is an essential part of the healthcare team and the successful candidate must possess strong intrapersonal skills, demonstrate an ability to clearly communicate in stressful situations, and consistently execute attention to detail in work performance. The successful candidate will understand and comply with legal requirements of licensure, the Health Professions Act, Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Health Information Act and other relevant legislation. Description:As a Cardiology Technologist, you will participate in the establishment of standards, goals and objectives and provide expertise in the selection and evaluation of new equipment. You will provide cardiology technology expertise for trans disciplinary case management and perform pacemaker technology functions on a regular ongoing basis.

Required Qualifications: Completion of certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologist (ASRCT). Active or eligible for registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications: Completion of certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologist (ASRCT). Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists Cardiology Technology (CSCT). Charge/supervisor experience in an Electrocardiography department within the last 2 years (equivalent to 0.5 or greater). Exercise tolerance/Stress testing experience within the last 2 years (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater). Experience within the last 2 years (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater) performing stress testing associated with myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI). Solution focused thinking with a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT in an acute care within the past 3 years (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater). Experience within the last 2 years (equivalent to 0.5 FTE or greater) related to the application, processing, and review of Holter and event monitors. Experience with conflict management, strong communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a stressful environment and adapt to changing workloads and lead a team.
