Job Summary:

Methodist Healthcare System is seeking a highly motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Interventional Cardiology team in San Antonio, Texas. The APP will work collaboratively with interventional cardiologists, cardiovascular specialists, hospital staff, and multidisciplinary care teams to provide comprehensive care for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive history and physical examinations for cardiovascular patients.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with coronary artery disease, peripheral vascular disease, structural heart disease, and other cardiovascular conditions.
  • Assist with inpatient rounding, consultations, and discharge planning.
  • Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure assessments for cardiac catheterizations, PCI, peripheral interventions, and other cardiovascular procedures.
  • Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic studies, including laboratory results, ECGs, echocardiograms, stress testing, vascular studies, and cardiac imaging.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Coordinate care with referring physicians, hospitalists, cardiovascular surgeons, nursing staff, and ancillary departments.
  • Educate patients and families regarding disease processes, treatment options, medications, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical documentation, and multidisciplinary cardiovascular conferences.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in weekend and call coverage as required by the practice.
