Responsibilities

Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting multiple Cardiac Perfusionist to support the Richmond VA Healthcare System located at 1201 Broad Rock Blvd, Richmond, VA 23249. The work schedule is expected to be Monday-Friday with on call. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite Board-Certified Perfusion Services for veteran patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures.
  • Assist Cardio-Thoracic Surgery with:
    • Open-heart surgeries
    • Valve replacement procedures
    • Emergency cardiac procedures
  • Prepare, operate, and maintain:
    • Heart-lung machines
    • Autotransfusion pumps
    • Intra-aortic balloon pumps
    • Centrifugal ventricular assist devices
  • Maintain extracorporeal circulation during surgical procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate blood volume and circulation support during surgery.
  • Prevent shock and air emboli during procedures.
  • Assemble equipment and supplies for emergent cardiopulmonary support situations.
  • Support patients requiring:
    • ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
    • Balloon pump therapy
    • Other advanced circulatory support modalities.
  • Review patient records and surgical plans prior to procedures.
  • Document treatment plans and patient care in the VA Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Complete and maintain transfusion documentation, including SF-518 forms.
  • Enter assessments, treatment plans, outcomes, and follow-up recommendations into patient records within required timeframes.
  • Ensure compliance with privacy, HIPAA, and VA documentation requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and meetings as required.
  • Attend staff meetings as directed by Surgical Service leadership.
  • Complete QA/QI documentation for procedures, complications, and outcomes.
  • Complete weekly timesheets and attendance documentation.
  • Report patient safety incidents within 24 hours.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Allied Health Education Program School of Perfusion Technology.
  • Current certification through the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of perfusion experience.
  • Minimum 200 clinical perfusion cases completed.
  • Demonstrated experience with:
    • Open-heart surgery
    • Autotransfusion
    • Heart-lung machines
    • Membrane oxygenation
    • Left/right heart bypass
    • Intra-aortic balloon pumping
    • Centrifugal ventricular assist devices
  • Current, full, unrestricted license, registration, certification, or credential as required by the profession and applicable state regulations.
  • No sponsorship available.

All candidates must be able to:
  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
