Job DescriptionThe Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, affiliated with New York City Health and Hospitals/Elmhurst, is seeking a full time Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join its Division of Cardiology. This is an outstanding opportunity for an electrophysiologist interested in helping to build and expand a comprehensive electrophysiology program at a major New York City teaching hospital. Elmhurst features a newly installed GE electrophysiology laboratory, with institutional support for continued growth of the EP program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the program, including procedural workflows, equipment configuration, and selection of technologies and platforms appropriate to the laboratory's evolving clinical needs.
Responsibilities- Perform a broad range of electrophysiology procedures, including right- and left-sided catheter ablations.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient electrophysiology consultation and longitudinal care.
- Manage and follow patients with pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators, and other cardiac implantable electronic devices.
- Participate in the continued development of the electrophysiology laboratory, including selection and implementation of equipment, technologies, and procedural platforms.
- Collaborate closely with general cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac imaging, critical care, anesthesia, and other clinical services.
- Participate in the teaching and supervision of cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students.
- Contribute to quality improvement, multidisciplinary care, and the continued growth of cardiovascular services at Elmhurst.
Qualifications- MD/DO degree
- Board certified or eligible in Cardiovascular Disease
- Valid New York State License, DEA and Medicaid number
- Formal training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
- Board certified or board eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology
- Proficient in both right- and left-sided catheter ablation
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus but is not required
Compensation range from 400K to 400K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
The successful candidate will receive a faculty appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai commensurate with credentials, experience and academic qualifications. We offer a highly competitive compensation and benefits package including CME support. The base salary for this position is $400,000, with additional faculty practice distributions throughout the academic year. Elmhurst Hospital Center is conveniently located in Queens and is easily accessible by public transportation and car from Manhattan, the other New York City boroughs, Long Island and New Jersey.
