Job Description:- Performs a variety of cardiac and vascular ultrasound procedures on patients ranging from neonatal to gerontologic.
- Obtains quality diagnostic scans and assists physicians as needed.
- Selects practical applications and technical factors to ensure effective departmental processes.
- Adapts procedures to each patient's medical situation, obtaining all necessary information for proper interpretation.
- Demonstrates knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy and physiology.
- Performs echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, contrast and agitated saline studies, and assists with TEE procedures.
- Conducts carotid exams, abdominal exams, upper and lower extremity arterial/venous studies, and imaging of pre-operative/post-operative bypass grafts, stents, and endarterectomies.
- Calculates and documents information accurately.
- Communicates abnormal findings to the reading physicians and notifies them of procedures to be interpreted.
- Manages time and equipment effectively and works as a team member to provide the best patient care.
- Participates in performance improvement projects and proactively initiates process improvement ideas.
- Honors patient's rights by following privacy guidelines and code of ethics with patients, physicians, co-workers, and guests.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Basic EKG knowledge. [Required]
- Must be able to function independently with little or no supervision. [Required]
- Must be able to read, write legibly and perform basic mathematics skills. [Required]
- Must be able to communicate effectively. [Required]
Education:- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Associate's of Science [Preferred]
- Bachelor's of Science[Preferred]
Field of Study:- Cardiac or Vascular Ultrasound progra
Licenses and Certifications:- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) [Required] OR
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) [Required]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range:$28.68 - $53.35
