Responsibilities

  • Support and work closely with clinic RNs
  • Follow physician orders and treatments for cardiac patients
  • Report operational updates to the Nursing supervisor or Clinic Administrator

The Cardiac Device Technician works with physicians, mid-levels, clinical staff and office staff to effectively, efficiently and accurately fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a busy outpatient device clinic. All procedures and treatments performed must be ordered by the physician, and/or mid-level providers. Duties and responsibilities will include interrogation and assessment of implantable cardiac devices which include pacemakers, defibrillators and implantable loop recorders, as well as management of remote transmissions. The Device Technician will work closely with device clinic RN's and will be under the clinical supervision of the implanting physicians and will report to the Nursing supervisor or Clinic Administrator.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Health or Science related field, or equivalent educ/experience
  • Upon hire: National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International, or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Cardiac Device Specialist - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, or
  • Upon hire: National Cardiac Device Remote Monitoring Specialist - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners, or
  • Upon hire: National Certified Electrophysiology Specialist - International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • 2 years experience in the healthcare and/or assessment of cardiac patients

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Coursework/Training: Completion of ATI training
  • Upon hire: CCDS certification
  • Basic EKG skills.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
