What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking a Capture Executive to lead capture planning and execution for complex, high-value, and strategically important pursuits. This role partners with business development, technical, proposal, and Growth teams to shape pursuit strategies, strengthen positioning, and improve capture consistency across the organization.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead capture planning and execution for the company's most complex, high-value, high-risk, or strategically important pursuits.
  • Lead and coordinate capture activities across assigned priority pursuits, ensuring strategies, milestones, actions, and decision points are clear and current.
  • Advise senior leaders on opportunity qualification, pursuit investment, positioning, teaming, resources, and risk.
  • Develop, review, and challenge capture plans, competitive strategies, value propositions, differentiators, win themes, and decision materials.
  • Facilitate senior-level strategy sessions, portfolio reviews, and qualification or go/no-go discussions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional pursuit teams, resolve barriers, and escalate major risks, resource needs, or decisions when needed.
  • Monitor pursuit progress and capture milestones; identify gaps and drive follow-up to keep priority pursuits moving.
  • Maintain and update capture plans as new information becomes available.
  • Ensure CRM fields, opportunity information, and required reports are updated based on information learned through research, meetings, and pursuit activities.
  • Coordinate capture-to-proposal transitions and reinforce lessons learned.
  • Provide subject-matter guidance to pursuit teams and help strengthen capture quality and execution without direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Improve capture methods, tools, standards, and consistency across the enterprise.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • 3+ years of experience in capture, business development, multi-team proposal management, sales, account planning, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum qualifications:
    • Demonstrated success leading complex, high-value, high-risk, or strategically important pursuits.
    • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional pursuit teams and drive execution without direct supervisory authority.
    • Ability to manage multiple priority pursuits, set priorities, and coordinate resources based on business needs.
    • Ability to advise senior leaders and make sound recommendations using incomplete or changing information.
    • Ability to review and strengthen capture strategies, challenge assumptions, and drive accountability for execution.
    • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, facilitation, communication, organization, and follow-through.
    • Ability to resolve cross-functional barriers and coordinate work across regions, markets/practices, and functions.
    • Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business and collaboration tools.

Compensation:

The approximate compensation range for this position is $160,000 - $210,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
