Job Duties

This position serves as the Regional Lead Investigator. Receives information and complaints from employees, inmates and public regarding suspicious and/or observations of crimes or violations of laws, rules, regulations and policies; investigates allegations and reports incidents to the OLES as outlined in DOC policy. Conducts investigations into all assignments received from the OLES Assistant Deputy Chiefs. Gives assistance and directions to staff and inmates. Leads and counsel's staff. May coordinate schedule and assign duty rosters for assignment operations. Contributes to administration of performance management system for staff. Conducts ongoing inspections to maintain, security, sanitation and good order of the institution. Interacts with management, staff, visitors, inmates and the public to maintain orderly and secure operations.

Considerable experience in corrections or law enforcement. Experience supervising corrections staff. Responsible investigative or security related experiences. Working experience planning, scheduling, and/or organizing work for others to meet the required needs of the unit. Experience in reviewing and evaluating records and reports and applying post orders. Demonstrated knowledge of practices and procedures governing security and/or administration. Demonstrated ability to sufficiently receive, understand, follow and give oral and written instructions. Working knowledge in the use of firearms, radio equipment, physical control devices, electric and electronic controls. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Working experience in evidence-based practices
