Purpose: The primary responsibility of the Capacity Manager will be to support the Global Clinical Operations (GCO) Division within Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine to deliver resourcing insights to members of the R&D senior leadership and help support cross division initiatives/processes. The Capacity Manager will act as the single point of contact and Capacity Management lead for one or more functional areas, serving as a trusted advisor to those functions. Proactively identify risks and opportunities in relation to portfolio demand vs. supply analyses, driving consistent data visualization & processes, and driving informed resource planning practices. This role will ensure the integrity of FTE forecasting models by monitoring the forecast against actuals and other objective metrics.
You will be responsible for:- Act as a trusted advisor to GCO providing resource insights and analytics on a monthly and ad hoc basis that drive functional decision making.
- Owning resource forecasting processes, e.g., Supply v. Demand, overtime, attrition rates, J&J/Flex ratios, throughput analytics, resource trends, and many others.
- Working with key business partners to develop Machine Learning & advanced forecasting models.
- Enabling financial planning cycles (BP, JU, NU, and CF) through a close partnership with Finance and Functional Business Operations Heads/Leads.
- Utilizing excellent communication skills to translate complex resource related technical information and data into clear recommendations for decision making.
- Employing excellent listening skills to take complex information from subject matter experts within the Functions to develop robust forecasting models through requirements gathering, validation, deployment, monitoring and controlling (i.e., ensure model health).
- Strategic thinking and a strong ability to network successfully across boundaries and organizations will also be needed in this role.
- In addition to Functional responsibilities, the candidate will work independently to shape and lead capabilities within their team including but not limited to Machine Learning, cross-functional model accuracy metrics, and manual demand monitoring & control.
Qualifications / Requirements:- A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. Advanced degree preferred.
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience is required.
- Prior experience in a planning/forecasting role is strongly preferred.
- General end to end drug development knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Planisware is preferred.
- Expert analytical and data-visualization skills are required (e.g., experience analyzing data trends, historical trends, data mining, simulation, optimization, predictive modeling, machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc.).
- Experience with reporting and statistical capabilities including (but not limited to) Tableau, Power BI, Spotfire, Minitab, etc is preferred.
- The ability to translate complex, sometimes disparate data into simple, logical insights and drive decision making are required.
- Expert interpersonal skills with the ability to actively listen, quickly evaluate multiple options across various stakeholders, and deliver high-impact solutions are required.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills are required.
