Allied Universal is Hiring a Campus Shift Security Supervisor to work in San Francisco

Pay Rate: $41.00 / Hour

Shift: Swing / Monday - Thursday / 2pm-11pm

Position Summary:The Campus Shift Security Supervisor provides first-line leadership and personnel management for vendor personnel assigned to South San Francisco campus operations, including Patrols, Lobbies, Special Assignments, the First Alert Team (FAT), and the Security Operations Center (SOC) for a high-profile customer. The Campus Shift Security Supervisor is accountable for performance management, shift-level accountability, training compliance, corrective action, emergency response, and business continuity support. Working closely with client and Allied Universal Operations Managers, the Supervisor measures and improves operational outcomes including patrol cadence, officer safety, activity documentation, alarm response, and recovery of business operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise activities and provide direct personnel leadership across Patrol, Lobbies, Special Assignments, FAT, and SOC accountabilities.
- Conduct systematic inspections and field audits to ensure personnel are properly equipped, trained, alert, groomed, and performing in compliance with client policies and safety standards.
- Own performance management, documentation, cross-functional coaching cycles, and corrective actions for Field Officers and SOC Dispatchers to ensure consistent standards.
- Lead dynamic, intelligence-driven shift briefings and changeovers; set operational expectations, highlight active campus risks, and provide continuous on-shift education.
- Understand employee capabilities and needs, and manage effectively through delegation, coaching, and meaningful performance expectations.
- Partner with the SOC leadership to maintain campus situational awareness, eliminate communication silos, and improve dispatch-to-field tactical clarity.
- Manage field resource allocation and strategic delegation; identify idle or stationary bottlenecks and redirect personnel to high-value visibility, exterior patrol, and badge-audit activities.
- Enforce accountability for campus property and security equipment during shift changes, including accurate transfer logs for keys, mobile assets, communication devices, and patrol vehicles.
- Respond to campus alarms, security breaches, and emergency calls and, when assigned, serve as onsite Incident Commander within the Incident Command System (ICS), directing tactical resources without unnecessarily assuming frontline tasks.
- Maintain physical and operational readiness for FAT and emergency-response roles, including required SCBA and medical-responder protocols.
- Manage shift assignments and engagement routines to prevent complacency, sustain alertness, and mitigate shift tribalism.
- Protect personnel, physical assets, and intellectual property by enforcing applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Identify and report security-related issues; act on issues with defined response procedures and seek leadership direction when procedures do not address the situation.
- Respond to and follow up on security service requests while consistently providing excellent customer service.
- Observe and report unsafe conditions or activities to help maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Write and review comprehensive reports, daily logs, and incident-response documentation.
- Conduct interviews with witnesses or victims as directed, prepare incident reports, and testify when required regarding documented events.
- Ensure operational readiness and accountability for assigned equipment and follow required issuance procedures.

Basic Qualifications:
- Formal Education, Licenses, and Certifications: High school diploma or equivalent; valid driver's license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle.
- Type and Length of Specific Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of progressive supervisory proficiency in active performance monitoring, field auditing, personnel development, objective coaching, and prompt corrective action.
- Knowledge and Skills:
- Leadership capability to cultivate a high-performance environment, manage personnel outcomes using balanced metrics, and align staff behavior with client strategic intent.
- Operational familiarity with modern SOC frameworks, including computer-aided dispatch, CCTV, and access-control platforms, sufficient to evaluate, audit, and coach dispatcher performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear direction, complete technical reports, and participate in structured feedback with program managers.
- Ability to maintain composure, establish command presence, and act decisively in routine operations and high-stress or emergency situations.
- Professional attitude and appearance, with the ability to represent the security department positively.
- Ability to interact successfully with employees, clients, vendors, and emergency-response or public-safety agencies.
- Ability to maintain a high state of alertness for threats to personnel, property, and business continuity.
- Ability to type 30 words per minute with minimal error.

Preferred Attributes:
- Progressive supervisory or first-line leadership experience in private security management, corporate operations, military, or emergency services.
