The Position:

Under the direction of the General Manager, the Camp Manager leads and provides direction to the Kitchen, Housekeeping & Janitorial services of the camp site team. The Camp Manager position is a blended office and hands-on position, the successful candidate must be willing and able to work in all areas of Bouwa Whee Catering.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
  • Red Seal certification or journeyman is considered an asset
  • 5-10 years hospitality operation management experience
  • A complete knowledge and understanding of Microsoft office software, including but not limited to excel spreadsheets, word, outlook, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the safe and efficient operation of all equipment in the Food Service area of operations.
  • Must be personable and have excellent communication skills as well as able to maintain outstanding customer service relations with clients, guests, vendor and corporate office representatives.
  • Able to lead and direct other onsite teams as needed
  • Understanding of the proper use of all cleaning chemicals utilized in the operation, and understand the safety precautions necessary while using these products.
  • A current WHMIS and Level 1 & 2 Food Safe certificates.
  • Familiar with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Concept of working as a team player and have the ability to work well with others
  • Ability to manage food costs, inventory systems and purchasing
  • Must have a strong understanding of applicable health & safety legislation


Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for:
  • Oversee the different Bouwa Whee Catering departments on site and provide support to the departmental supervisors
  • Maintain accurate cost reports, inventory control systems
  • Ensure that the objectives of delivering quality food in a safe environment are achieved each day.
  • Ensure that all employees are trained in all aspects of their position in order to provide excellent service and a Safe Work environment for all employees
  • Facilitate and maintain positive customer relations and act as a liaison between the Bouwa Whee Catering Corporate office and the client
  • Maintain accurate cost reports, inventory control systems, and assist the accounting department with payroll, invoicing etc.
  • Ensure that all employees are trained in all aspects of their position in order to provide excellent service and a Safe Work environment for all employees and residents of the Accommodation Complexes.
  • Work collaboratively with the human resources department to hire, train, develop, retain and manage employees
  • Compiling and submitting a variety of reports to management, staff and the client ensuring quality, cost and efficiency are maintained
  • Manage staffing levels on site
  • Approve
