Job Description:

The CAM Development Engineer works with the global CAM development team on integrating and developing automations for CAD/CAM production lines, software and automated manufacturing equipment.

The CAM Development Engineer works with various software environments and develops solutions that are both robust under heavy load conditions and highly available.

He/She works in the medical / dental technology domain and participates in different projects according to the needs of the company and in collaboration with co-workers and supervisor.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop new CAM-automation processes; maintain and update existing processes, keeping them current and as efficient as possible.
  • Recommend milling strategies and collaborate with team to find best solutions in CAM-automation.
  • Perform first-time machine setup and recommend new machining solutions for new products
  • Participate in conference calls, as needed, with global teams on solutions.
  • Provide regular written and verbal status progress reports and project updates; communicate next steps to management as required.
  • Actively participate in the development and roll-out of new system worldwide.
  • Support production operations, quickly respond to production issues, conduct root cause analysis, define temporary work-arounds, develop and implement long-term solutions.
  • Support prototyping and voice of customer experimentation.
  • Document work and development through different document type according to company standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related fields preferred and/or relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience.
  • 3+ years of Engineering experience, mechanical or manufacturing preferred.
  • 2+ years of CNC CAM programming experience using PowerMill or equivalent software.
  • Must be able to work on site in Mahwah, NJ, 5 days per week.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in PowerMILL, PowerSHAPE (Delcam/AutoDesk).
  • Strong understanding of milling and turning industries, e.g. develop cutting data, develop/find milling tool.
  • Expertise in CAM automation and industrial solutions.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing automation processes.
  • Experience with 5-axis CNC controllers (e.g., Fanuc, Roeders, Heidenhain).
  • Programming knowledge in C#, JavaScript (preferred).
  • Experience with Post Processors (preferred).
  • Understanding of documentation for Medical Device regulation (preferred).
  • Ability to identify, discern, and analyze issues related to CAM and recommend/implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines set by the supervisor.
  • Team player and collaborative with both co-workers and the supervisor.
  • Fluent in English, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
