Hybrid: This position allows flexibilityutilizingour hybrid-work appropriately model (On-site Tues., Wed., & Thurs.) where team members can work at General Motors Milford Proving Ground, Milford, Michigan or off-site, requiring the teammemberbeonsite to support project needs.

The Role:

The Calibration Tech Specialist plays a vital role in projects,leveraginghis or herexpertiseand cross functional partners to provide the roadmap and building blocks for calibration execution.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the Calibration TRB forApplication Torque Controls spanning all propulsion types

  • Set Direction for Best Practices and Procedures

  • Provide Technical Mentoring (for both control system functionality and calibration strategy) to individuals in and out of the direct group, including global partners

  • Assistin program issue resolution

  • Lead technical discussions with Government Regulatory agencies

  • Support development ofinitialCalibration Procedure as a Scrum team member for the given area, including procedures for joint venture partners.Lead the refinement of the Calibration Procedure.

  • Support the Scrum teams during job function assignment, master calibration default value assignments, calibration tool development, diagnosticmatrixor typing sheet development

  • Provide calibration input to the Agile Release Train or Advanced requirements development team duringinitialcontrol system design

  • Provide feedback from the Calibration TRB on missing use cases, noise factors, limitations, and assumptions to improve control system performance and capability

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) :

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanicaland/or Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering

  • 5+ years of calibration or controls experience in the field ofexpertise

  • Strong background in propulsion system calibration, including tools (Matlab/Simulink, Inca, ETAS)

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally

  • Ability to legally drive a vehicle in North America, meeting GMs Safe Driving rules and regulations

  • High levelof oral and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated technical & professional skills in job-related areas

  • High levelof interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with cross-functional partners to meet mutual goals

  • High levelof analyticalproblem solvingability, including independent judgment &decision makingskills

  • Ability to prioritize work with only limited direction from manager

  • Lead discussions, actionplansand solutions to drive issues to closure at the organizational level

What Will Give YouACompetitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) :

  • Master or PhD degree in Engineering

  • 8+ years of experience in thepropulsion torque controls or calibrationdomain

  • DFSS Black Belt Certification

  • Strong background in Controls knowledge of assigned area

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Agile development process
