Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or Drafting Certificate with relevant design experience.
• At least 5 years of Solid Modeling experience (preferably Autodesk Inventor).
• Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5).
• Familiarity with drafting and Global Engineering Standards.
• Experience in sheet metal design and detailing is a plus.
• Background in designing machined parts.
• Knowledge of welding processes and symbols.

Responsibilities

• Apply mechanical design expertise within a cross-functional team.
• Interpret customer drawings and create designs according to manufacturing capabilities.
• Independently design structurally sound components from various forms of information.
• Specify manufacturing tolerances and details using integrated software systems.
• Create accurate 3D models using CAD software for robotic welding applications.
• Prepare manufacturing and procurement materials and specifications lists.
• Assist other departments with interpreting designs and resolving issues.
