Job Description
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Profession: Cardiopulmonary

Shift: M-Th 10 hr days, with call on Fri, Sat & Sun, then switch to nights M-TH 10 hr days with Fri, Sat & Sun off
Hours per Shift: 10 hours
Experience: Minimum 1 year in clinical setting or strong recommendations for new graduates
License: Active and current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP
Must-Have: OSHA Respirator Fit Testing certification within 3 months of hire

Description:
Provides care, assessment, and delivery of Respiratory Therapy to individuals for which a physician has requested care.
Care will be provided in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency services, and home care.
Must be able to work with minimal assistance in procedures such as intubations, aerosol delivery, and patient assessment and care planning.
This job description is intended to identify some of the primary duties and responsibilities.
Assigning additional duties and responsibilities may occur at the organization's discretion.

Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent with a minimum of an associate's degree in Respiratory Care.
Active and current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Minimum 1 year experience in a clinical setting or strong recommendations for new graduates.
Must possess ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP within 6 months of hire.
Must be OSHA Respirator Fit Testing certified within 3 months of hire date.

Maintains positive working relationships with patients, visitors, and staff.

Compiles and organizes data using Microsoft Office applications and makes appropriate recommendations based on the data obtained.
Maintains an organized set of records, as requested, for the functions performed within the job scope.
Communicates appropriately and clearly with directors, managers, and coworkers.
Performs all assigned tasks accurately, including correct spelling and grammar and minimal mathematical calculations.
Takes direction from others, including employees of other departments, in accordance with the chain of command.
Maintains confidentiality in all job functions, including payroll and personnel information.
Effectively uses office machines to perform job functions.
Answers phone calls, assists the public, and forwards information appropriately in a professional and friendly manner.
Completes other duties as assigned.

Completes annual education requirements as applicable.
Maintains regulatory requirements.
Wears identification while on duty.
Attends annual evaluations and participates actively in the process.

Working Conditions:
Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and in other positions temporarily when necessary.

Physical Requirements:
Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks, and moves intermittently during working hours.
Able to lift 40 lbs.
