Quality Manager - Machine Shop/CNC, ISO9000/AS9100 Audits

Direct Hire/Perm

We are keeping an sharp eye out for a Quality Manager for our smaller Machine Shop/Contract Manufacturing facility in the Peninsula area of the BAY AREA for a role where the ideally qualified candidate will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the quality assurance processes within the organization, from top to bottom.. This role aims to ensure that products meet regulatory standards and customer expectations while leading the quality team in continuous improvement initiatives, Quality Audits, team training, etc.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement quality management strategies and policies to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 standards.
  • Conduct regular quality audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Lead the team's quality assurance Efforts from the front, providing guidance and support in quality management practices.
  • Analyze quality metrics and data to drive continuous improvement efforts and maintain high-quality standards in production processes.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Manage documentation related to quality management systems and ensure proper reporting to stakeholders.
  • Train and mentor staff on quality control processes, methodologies, and standards.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in AEROSPACE/DOD part manufacturing is desired, as would be some Medical Device exposure.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality management, preferably in the medical devices or aerospace industries.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and AS 9100 standards.
  • Experience in mechanical inspection, metrology, and CNC or machine shop processes.
  • Proficiency in statistical methods, including SPC, DOE, and Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt) is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in leading quality audits and serving as an audit leader.
  • Familiarity with metal part manufacturing processes and quality assurance practices.
