Full Job Description
Overview:

Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing assigned commodities while driving supplier performance in cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness. This role requires strong analytical skills, independent decision-making, and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Buyer will work closely with Supply Chain leadership to support corporate strategies and ensure supply continuity

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the management of demand requirements; RFQ solicitation, quote review, negotiation and order placement
  • Responsible for leading and/or participating in contract negotiation
  • Responsible for PPV awareness within commodity and annual savings
  • Responsible for open order management and supplier on-time delivery
  • Responsible for managing order exceptions (late lines, expedites, cancels)
  • Responsible for facilitating weekly supplier engagement calls for full understanding and management of the open book of business
  • Develop and strengthen business relationships with suppliers and internal cross functional teams
  • Work with Commodity Manager and Senior Leadership to gain a solid understanding of strategic direction and supply requirements, corporate business objectives and priorities to develop global supply strategies.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and work towards resolution
  • Evaluate current workload and continuously look for opportunities for efficiency
  • Initiate, lead and participate in cross-functional teams in procurement, general continuous improvement projects as well as proactively supporting other team members in their tasks and activities
  • Continuous learning and development of category knowledge and methodologies driving innovation and organizational
  • Demonstration of strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Manage internal and external stakeholder engagements for efforts and program implementations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7-10 years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings / technical documentation
  • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of measurable results
  • Strong technical skills - Ability to support commercial and sourcing requirements for new product development
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Syteline experience is a plus)
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative cross-functional relationships
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to develop and execute procurement strategies
  • Strong tactical execution skills, particularly in time-sensitive scenarios
  • Ability to align commodity strategy to broader supply chain objectives
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and capable of working independently
  • Strong financial and business acumen

Compensation: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 annual base salary based experience
