About The Job

We are seeking a highly motivated Buyer to join our Purchasing Team for production and parts sales support. This role will focus on creating value within the organization by working with suppliers and production to maintain inventory levels. Managing the creation of new parts within our system, introducing these parts to suppliers, and coordinating with quality and engineering teams to ensure successful integration into production. The Buyer will work across all MFT manufacturing facilities located in the USA and Mexico, playing a critical role in supplier engagement, cost management, and ensuring timely availability of components.

Key Responsibilities

New Part Creation, Changes & Setup

  • Establish new parts in the ERP/system with accurate specifications, sourcing details, and procurement parameters.


  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to validate part requirements and ensure compliance with standards.


Supplier Engagement & Onboarding

  • Partner with Category Management team and Supplier to negotiate pricing, lead times, and supply agreements for new components.


  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to support innovation and responsiveness.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with engineering, quality, and operations teams to align part design, manufacturability, and approval processes.


  • Support supplier qualification and part approval workflows, including PPAP or equivalent processes.


  • Provide input on sourcing strategies to balance cost, quality, and supply chain resilience.


Inventory & Procurement Strategy

  • Monitor part volumes and inventory levels to prevent excess or shortages during product introduction.


  • Recommend adjustments to purchasing strategies based on demand forecasts and site-specific inventory.


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline new part introduction processes.


  • Contribute to supplier performance reviews and corrective action plans.


  • Support the development of repeatable workflows for ongoing processes.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.


  • 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment.


  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and part setup processes.


  • Experience working with engineering and quality teams


  • Proven negotiation skills and supplier management experience.


  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.


  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience with PPAP, APQP, or similar quality approval processes.


  • Background in electronics, mechanical components, or complex assemblies.


  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.


  • Ability to travel occasionally 5% to supplier sites and MFT facilities in the USA and Mexico.


Salary Range: $75K - $100K
