As a Buyer on our Merchandising Team you'll have a highly visible role translating the overall merchandising direction into the acquisition and promotion of product for departmental categories of business. You'll be driven to deliver appropriate sales, gross margin and turn performance to contribute to the ultimate success of the merchandise strategy.
Using your keen sense of fashion direction and merchandising knowledge you will support DXL's mission by:
- Overseeing the success of the department through developing and driving seasonal business strategies that meet or exceed financial targets
- Partnering with cross-functional team members to develop department key concepts, key items, store assortments and promotional strategies that are commercially viable
- Handling vendor relationships ensuring that product meets or exceeds standards for quality and represents overall fashion direction. You'll negotiate product cost, manage receipt flow, and strategize business to meet financial goals
- Overseeing, evaluating, and presenting seasonal strategies and performance at milestone company meetings
- Formulating department pricing strategies including first price, promotional pricing, sell through items by planned out dates
We're looking for someone:
- With a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- With 3+ year's experience in a specialty retail environment exceeding $100M in sales volume
- With strong knowledge of merchandise/retail accounting

The hiring range for this position is $95,000 - $115,000. While the compensation within the posted range will vary based on experience, skill set, and internal equity, it is uncommon for new hires to be placed at the top of the range. This is a bonus eligible position.
