Full Job Description

This is a key role that brings together product strategy and execution through distilling competitive insights, understanding participant needs and shaping the most critical capabilities to improve our offer. This role shapes strategic insights into clear business priorities and ensures those ideas are delivered through strong partnership with technology and delivery teams, acting as a business lead from ideation through implementation to drive meaningful outcomes. 

The work you will do is at the heart of two key enterprise operating priorities (EOPs) in both improving the client experience and bringing the best of what we can offer through Workplace and Personal Wealth to our participants.  This is a highly visible role that will shape the future of the Advice from Vanguard offer within Workplace Solutions.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Strategic and Offer Analysis: Develops and leads complex strategic, competitive, and product analyses with the recordkeeping and advice landscape. Independently identifies and defines business challenges, defines a research and analysis approach, delivers comprehensive, executive level recommendations and approach to delivery.  

  • Analytical Analyses: Interprets and analyzes highly complex data using business acumen to derive key insights. Verifies the quality, accuracy, and reasonableness of the data. Displays, organizes, and crafts data into a compelling storyline with actionable insight for the business. 

  • Competitive and Market Insights: Researches and analyzes emerging product and industry trends, distills key impacts to the Advice from Vanguard strategy and offer, and influences cross divisional leadership (Workplace and Personal Wealth) to consider strategic and competitive implications.  

  • Delivery Oversight:  Serves as the business lead for key Advice from Vanguard initiatives, partnering closely with technology teams to translate strategy into execution. Shapes scope and priorities, ensures alignment to business outcomes, manages tradeoffs, and supports delivery through the full lifecycle from concept to launch. 

  • Relationship Management:  Builds and sustains strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Workplace Solutions and Personal Wealth, including Product Technology Teams, Operations, Marketing, Legal, and Finance. Acts as a trusted thought partner and aligns diverse perspectives to drive enterprise outcomes for the Advice from Vanguard offer. 

  • Business Planning: Leads and supports key elements of annual business planning for Advice from Vanguard within Workplace Solutions, including business case creation and roadmap development.  

  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. 

 
Qualifications 

  • Minimum of five years related work experience, specifically experience leading large scale strategy projects as well as product development and project management experience.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred. 

  • Ability to cohere to our Hybrid Work Model which requires being onsite Tues/Wed/Thurs. Vanguard crew may work from home Mon/Fri.
