Description
This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from home or location of record within the U.S. with no in-office requirements. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement for this role is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance. Position OverviewThe Business Systems Analyst is instrumental in carrying out Paylocity's primary mission of driving client satisfaction by ensuring their needs are fully understood and we are successful in meeting them. Business System Analysts are responsible for defining requirements, designing integration systems, recommending automated integration controls, and refining systems/processes to solve integration issues. Business System Analysts are additionally responsible for handling needs assessments, cost/benefits analysis, establishing internal/external relationships, as well as soliciting product and enhancement requirements from end users to convert requests into a workable integration solution.

- Analyze, define, model, validate, and document integration system requirements/specifications.
- Identify project milestones, phases, and elements, keep projects within timeline.
- Manage new integration projects through promotion of standard interfaces.
- Drives use of core Paylocity system functionality to reduce needs for customization.
- Construct workflow charts and diagrams, for communication of system capabilities.
- Study, understand, create, keep up to date on, and document Paylocity integration system capabilities/specifications.
- Conduct user acceptance testing, update procedural documentation of calculations, extracts/imports, and integration configurations.
- Create internal and external system integration user documentation.
- Creates, analyzes, and validates detailed functional/technical specifications for integrations with vendors and/or clients.
- Improves systems by studying current practices and designing modifications.
- Explain integration options, functions, and capabilities to clients and/or vendors.
- Explain rules, interfaces, reports, and calculations to clients and vendors to ensure that the integration customizations meet their needs.
- Using Paylocity system knowledge along with API, FTP, and/or SQL skills troubleshoot problems during integration testing.
- Partner with internal teams to refine requirements and/or identify alternative integration solutions.
- Manage communication with Sales/Implementation/Customer Service regarding integrations.
- Interface with customer Payroll, HR, and Time & Labor data using Paylocity systems, MS SQL, and other programs.
- Mentors/assists with training new employees and level I's while efficiently balancing current workload.
- Assists in driving process improvements.
- Manage Partner escalations and change requests.
- Leads team meetings, organizing and maintaining agendas/notes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree required
- At least six years' experience in Payroll and HR Industry
- At least three years' experience in a front-line customer facing role
- Experience writing business specifications required
- Experience defining software requirements preferred
- Experience working in a project-based environment
- Knowledge of API's and experience troubleshooting API integrations
- Knowledge of the data interface functional space
- Intermediate knowledge of FTP/SFTP
- Intermediate knowledge of SQL
- Intermediate knowledge of XSLT translation routines
- Intermediate knowledge of JSON data format
- Intermediate knowledge of SAML SSO technology practices
- Knowledge of EDI/XML file security preferred
- Experience working with company-to-company file transfers preferred
- Physical requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
- Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.
The pay range for this position is $73,200/yr - $115,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here .
