Job Summary
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will support business analysis, quality assurance, and product analysis activities while bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams. The role will gather and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications, support solution design and testing, and contribute to product improvements. Experience with lending processes and Loan Origination Systems (LOS) is important, including knowledge of the end-to-end lending lifecycle from lead generation and application intake through credit analysis, underwriting, closing, and funding.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements and functional specifications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Translate business needs into clear technical requirements for development teams.
• Facilitate communication between business users and technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with solution design and validate that deliverables meet business objectives.
• Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements.
• Perform manual and automated testing to validate software quality and functionality.
• Identify, document, and track defects and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
• Participate in regression, integration, system, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Ensure testing activities align with established quality standards and best practices.
• Analyze market trends, user feedback, and product performance metrics to support product decisions.
• Support product managers in defining product features, roadmaps, and priorities.
• Conduct competitive analysis and identify opportunities for product enhancements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
• Assist with product documentation, training materials, and release notes.
• Apply knowledge of lending processes and Loan Origination Systems to support workflow optimization across application intake, underwriting, closing, and funding.
• Support analysis of system configurations and requirements related to the lending lifecycle and applicable regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience in business analysis, quality assurance, product analysis, or related roles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and process modeling.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and tools such as Selenium, JIRA, and TestRail.
• Understanding of product lifecycle management and Agile methodologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of the lending lifecycle, including lead generation, application intake, credit analysis, underwriting, closing, and funding.
• Understanding of Loan Origination Systems (LOS), system configuration, and lending workflows.
• Ability to bridge business requirements and technical solutions to support workflow and system improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience as an Agile Product Owner.
• Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or Tableau.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban.
• Familiarity with user experience (UX) principles and customer journey mapping.
