Job DescriptionPerforms underwriting evaluation of residential mortgage loan applications to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and alignment with organizational risk standards. Applies expertise across conventional and government‑backed loan products and demonstrates working knowledge of the full mortgage loan lifecycle, including closing, post‑closing, and pooling. Utilizes strong analytical, process facilitation, and project management skills to support sound decision‑making, effective stakeholder communication, and workforce planning. Demonstrates business risk awareness, credible business acumen, effective presentation and relationship‑building skills, and proficiency with standard business technology tools.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Five to seven years of applicable experience
- Applicable professional certifications

- Advanced understanding of Home Mortgage Lending and Underwriting processes
-In depth knowledge and experience with FHA and VA loans
- Basic knowledge of Business Risk competencies
- Strong process facilitation and project management skills
- Effective presentation and relationship building skills

- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Possess business acumen and credibility to help business line(s) proactively identify and address changing workforce needs
- Proficient computer navigation skills, particularly word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $92,820.00 - $109,200.00
