Business Operations Manager 2 based in
Baltimore, MD. The Business Operations Manager for the MS Operations Airborne Malfunction Sensors (AMS) organization reports directly to the Mission Systems (MS) Senior Director of Quality and Mission Assurance for AMS.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills as well as project management, analytical, planning, and presentation skills. They will have the ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and projects within critical deadlines with an attention to detail and accuracy. They should have bring a demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others with the ability to respect confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information.
What you will get to do:The Business Operations Manager will manage the business operational aspects of the AMS QMA organization and provide direct support to the Director ensuring the leaders' vision is translated into an operational reality. The position will require interface across the AMS leadership team and coordination of activities across locations and sites.
This position requires a high energy strategic thinker with the ability to operate at both a strategic and a hands-on level as needed. Responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to:
- Drive execution of strategic initiatives and tasks initiated by the Director by working with cross-functional teams and business leaders throughout the organization and sector
- Establish and maintain the operating rhythm for the AMS QMA Leadership Team.
- Serve as the focal point for communication and collaboration for AMS QMA and ensure strong collaboration to include operations, division facing and engineering leadership.
- Facilitate AMS division engagement and reviews with AMS QMA and Division leadership teams.
- Lead internal special projects as requested by the Director, to include activities such as establishing and leading a cross-functional team, developing and monitoring objectives, briefing VP and senior leaders, and facilitating broader communication across sector employees as appropriate.
- Facilitate across all AMS QMA areas on organizational strategy discussions (off sites, roadmap development, engagement planning)
- Work with AMS QMA and Division leadership team to support workforce planning, metrics and movement of work across campuses.
- Perform analysis, planning and forecasting to aid in leadership, financial and organizational decision making. Facilitate the collection and presentation of metrics and develop analytical tools to track results and measurable outcomes stated objectives/goals.
- Establish agenda and coordinate preparation for leadership team meetings, off sites, events, and other key meetings.
- Shadow the Director in major meetings and events, reviewing the agenda and the pre- and post-interactions to ensure successful outcomes.
- Anticipate and manage materials, data, and presentation needs for upcoming meetings and events.
- Brief the Director on key issues, challenges and decisions made at meetings.
- Work with the administrative team to facilitate staff meetings (establish rhythms, coordinate special topics)
- Draft organizational communications related to calendar events and functional processes
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree and 8 years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience; OR a PhD and 4 years of relevant experience
- Prior strategy or operations experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Quality or Manufacturing experience
- Experience in Agile Leadership
- Experience as a Scrum Master
Primary Level Salary Range: $127,100.00 - $190,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
