POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Business Operations & Inside Sales Manager is a key member of the Business Operations organization responsible for delivering cross-functional commercial and operational support across Sales, Sales Operations, Bids & Proposals, and Partner Management. Reporting to the Director of Business Operations, this role works closely with internal teams to support the successful execution of Government and Commercial opportunities throughout the customer lifecycle.
This role ensures the effective administrative execution of sales activities including terminal provisioning, order processing, and reporting and provides Inside Sales support for opportunities and accounts actively managed by the Sales organization. In addition, this role will manage a selection of smaller existing customer accounts and serve as their primary commercial point of contact.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Serve as a cross-functional resource within the Business Operations organization, providing operational and commercial support across Sales, Sales Operations, Bids & Proposals, and Partner Management.
- Support Sales Operations activities including Sales Order Processing, Terminal Provisioning, Logistics Coordination, Record Keeping, and Reporting.
- Assist the Sales organization with contract renewals, amendments, quoting, customer communications, and other commercial activities related to active accounts and opportunities.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of smaller existing customer accounts, acting as the primary commercial point of contact and ensuring a high level of customer service.
- Coordinate with customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders to resolve commercial inquiries and support ongoing business activities.
- Provide secondary support to the Bids & Proposals function by assisting with proposal development, pricing reviews, proposal coordination, contract preparation, internal review meetings, and submission activities.
- Support the communication and implementation of commercial pricing updates to internal teams, partners, and customers.
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial workflows, operational efficiency, and the overall customer experience.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and established commercial processes.
- Develop, maintain, and improve commercial process documentation, standard operating procedures, templates, and work instructions.
- Support special projects and other duties assigned by your manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- There are no supervisory responsibilities for this role.
EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related discipline (preferred).
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in commercial operations, sales support, account management, contracts, business operations, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in the satellite communications (SATCOM) industry, including familiarity with satellite products, services, Government contracting practices, and customer engagement processes.
- Experience supporting complex opportunities involving cross-functional teams.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer requirements and business priorities.
- Exceptional written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with sound judgment and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and experience using enterprise business systems such as NetSuite.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS (PREFERRED)
- Experienced in supporting proposal development, bid management, and commercial contract administration.
- Experienced in coordinating commercial pricing activities and customer quotations.
- Proficient in supporting channel partner programs and indirect sales organizations.
- Skilled in developing business process documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge management resources.
- Expert in supporting both commercial and government customers within the satellite communications industry.
TRAVEL
- Travel is not projected for this position but may occur occasionally - less than 10%.
