Position SummaryYou will function as the Business Office Supervisor of a two-facility shared services business office for a Joint Commission accredited 200 bed psychiatric institution and National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) accredited 400 bed maximum security treatment facility. You will be responsible for the supervision of Business Office employees engaged in accounting, budget management, accounts payable, accounts receivable and the management of patient and residents' personal funds for WMHI and the Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC). Other responsibilities include:
- Preparing WMHI/WRC financial statements, accounting functions, and creating reports for WMHI and WRC department heads, as well as the Division of Care and Treatment Services (DCTS) and Department of Enterprise Services (DES).
- Calculating costs and chargebacks for shared services in Nutritional Services and Pharmacy departments and utility use chargeback.
- Managing the financial operations of WMHI's Canteen.
- Maintaining policies and procedures, and records.
Salary InformationThe starting pay is between $41.93 and $43.21 per hour (approximately between $87,200 and $89,800 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Financial program Supervisor and is in pay schedule and range 81/03.
Job DetailsAll applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by the facility or medical personnel directed by the facility prior to their start date.

QualificationsMinimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Experience performing accounting functions related to purchasing and budgeting duties (e.g., accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, purchase orders, reimbursements, preparing deposits, auditing of funds, journal vouchers, general ledgers, etc.).
- Experience creating and presenting financial or budget related documents (e.g. budget and spending documentation, trainings, etc.).
- Experience leading teams or supervising employees (e.g. interviewing applicants, overseeing the work of staff, coaching or training, evaluating performance, discipline, etc.).
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience managing money accounts in a professional setting (e.g., educational, hospital/ long term care, institution, prison, etc.) for patients, students, inmates etc.
- Experience using financial software programs (e.g., QuickBooks, PeopleSoft, etc.).
- Experience maintaining quality management processes.
