The Business Manager provides integrated oversight of contract financial management, accounting and maintenance systems, shipping and receiving operations, and assigned administrative personnel. The position generates and analyzes financial and operational information, supports forecasting and reporting, promotes accurate internal controls and records, and provides management with timely information regarding contract performance and financial health.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate contract-level business, financial, accounting, administrative, and operational support activities.
  • Develop integrated revenue and expense analyses, projections, management reports, and presentations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and verify that financial information is recorded accurately and supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Perform financial forecasting, budget monitoring, account reconciliation, variance analysis, and identification of financial risks or emerging issues.
  • Assess the financial health of the contract and provide timely findings and recommendations to project and senior management.
  • Identify relevant industry, market, and competitive trends and communicate potential impacts to management.
  • Oversee the effective use and administration of accounting and maintenance management systems, including data quality, reporting, and process compliance.
  • Create special and recurring reports using manual and automated data sources, including GFEBS and other authorized systems, as required.
  • Provide management oversight of shipping and receiving functions, including coordination of documentation, records, material accountability, and workflow priorities.
  • Supervise assigned office personnel, establish work priorities, monitor workload and performance, and promote effective communication and customer service.
  • Coordinate with operations, program leadership, corporate support functions, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve financial, administrative, system, and logistics issues.
  • Maintain organized, accurate, and auditable business records in accordance with company requirements and applicable contract procedures.
  • Support internal and external reviews, audits, data calls, and management inquiries by compiling accurate source documentation and responsive reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, internal controls, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum five (5) years related experience in financial management, accounting, business administration, contract support, logistics, or a comparable operational environment.
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to successfully complete required background screening and obtain and maintain a Government Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Knowledge of financial management principles, budgeting, forecasting, revenue and expense analysis, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and maintenance management systems.
  • Ability to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends and variances, and present clear findings to management.
  • Ability to manage shipping and receiving functions and associated documentation, workflow, and accountability requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to create standard and special reports from manual and automated data sources, including GFEBS.
  • Knowledge of sound internal controls, records management, and audit-support practices.
  • Possess strong leadership, supervisory, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, exercise sound judgment, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced contract environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with employees, management, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.

  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds on a regular basis and more on an occasional basis
