What You'll Do

Principal is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst III  within our Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) Data & Analytics team! In this role, we are looking for someone who is technically skilled in Power BI and SAS and familiar with other BI platforms. This individual will help shape the organization's BI strategy by evaluating reporting and analytics tools, participating in enterprise governance discussions, and identifying innovative ways to deliver insights through emerging technologies such as AI, agentic solutions, and LLMs.

This role will serve as an active participant in the enterprise BI Steering Committee, helping evaluate and guide decisions on analytics and reporting technologies, including which tools to adopt, optimize, or retire. The ideal candidate brings an experimental mindset, continuously exploring opportunities to improve how insights are delivered through emerging technologies such as AI, agentic solutions, and LLMs rather than relying solely on traditional reporting approaches. This individual will also develop a strong understanding of the RIS business, own existing reporting solutions, and support ongoing ad hoc analytics and reporting needs.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that enable business decision-making.
  • Serve as a BI subject matter expert, recommending improvements to reporting tools, processes, and analytics capabilities.
  • Participate in enterprise BI governance and tool evaluation efforts, helping guide decisions on platform adoption, optimization, and retirement.
  • Own existing reports and support ad hoc analytics requests.
  • Explore innovative approaches to analytics, automation, AI, and self-service reporting.
  • Partner with business leaders to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.
  • Promote data governance, data literacy, and effective use of BI tools across the organization.
Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, or reporting.
  • Experience with Power BI and familiarity with other BI platforms such as Tableau, Qlik, Looker, Domo, or Sisense.
  • Proficiency in SQL, DAX or other query languages.
  • Strong data visualization, reporting, and business analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and an innovation mindset, with the ability to challenge traditional approaches and recommend new solutions.
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to translate data into meaningful insights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms.
  • Experience with AI, generative AI, LLMs, copilots, or agentic solutions to enhance analytics and reporting.
  • Experience evaluating or implementing analytics tools, technologies, and reporting solutions.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and an innovation mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
