Full Job Description
Overview

The Business Insights Manager is responsible for understanding business needs and providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making across the organization specifically in one of these focus areas - customer experience, employee experience or market insights. Across all focus areas, this role ensures that market, customer and employee signals are systematically collected, rigorously analyzed and translated into insights the business can act on. The role will oversee the development, implementation and management of a specified insights program consisting of the collection, analysis, reporting and interpretation of research and data, leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics to work faster and surface deeper insights. The role balances an always-on listening capability with targeted research projects to uncover insights that inform business strategy, co-developing the research plan with cross-functional stakeholders, aligning work to business priorities and partnering with technical teams to operationalize advanced analytics and AI-enabled solutions.

Responsibilities

Employee Experience (EX)

  • This role serves as a strategic partner and insights advisor within the EX ecosystem, responsible for the Voice of Employee (VoE) listening and analysis infrastructure and collaborating closely with HR and the business on insight-driven recommendations and priorities.
  • Responsible for the VoE program (engagement surveys, pulse surveys and other feedback mechanisms), including listening architecture design, touchpoint coverage, survey design, vendor management and data quality.
  • Collect and analyze employee feedback across channels and career-lifecycle stages to understand the end-to-end employee experience.
  • Identify and synthesize patterns and themes in employee data; co-develop data-informed improvement recommendations with HR and EX leaders to inform decisions about people-facing programs, processes and touchpoints that drive engagement and retention.
  • Track key EX metrics and measure shifts in employee feedback signals, interpreting what those shifts reveal about the employee experience and providing HR and EX leaders with the analytical foundation to assess the effectiveness of engagement and retention initiatives.
  • In partnership with HR, corporate communications, and other teams, ensure employee insights are embedded into strategic decision-making.

Listening, Research, Analysis and Insight Delivery

  • In collaboration with business partners, design, operate and continuously evolve an always-on listening system that captures structured and unstructured signal across touchpoints, channels and lifecycle stages, in partnership with technical teams to enable scalable data flow and integration.
  • Design and administer qualitative and quantitative primary research, including surveys, focus groups and in-depth interviews.
  • Collect, synthesize and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources using statistical techniques and reporting and analytics tools.
  • Translate complex data into meaningful, visually engaging reports, dashboards and presentations that communicate actionable insights and data-informed recommendations, developed collaboratively with relevant stakeholders.
  • Present insights in a clear storytelling format to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track key metrics and make data more accessible across the organization.

Project Management and Execution

  • Develop and maintain a roadmap that prioritizes listening system enhancements, research initiatives and analytics investments based on business value and technical feasibility.
  • Lead and manage research and insights projects end-to-end, including scoping, methodology selection, milestone tracking and rollout.
  • Set project and task deadlines, monitor progress and prepare status reports for stakeholders.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Share, organize and archive research projects, data and documentation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to understand business strategies and priorities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and workshops to ensure alignment and foster collaboration.
  • Effectively communicate plans, concepts, findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work with external partners and vendors to source research, data and capabilities as needed.
  • Partner with technical teams (data engineering, analytics, IT, AI/ML) to translate business needs into operational solutions.
  • Serve as a data-informed consultant on improvement recommendations in partnership with business stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement and Quality

  • Ensure all projects comply with applicable regulations, company standards and quality requirements.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes for generating insights that are relevant, timely and actionable.
  • Identify and apply opportunities to use AI to improve the quality, speed and scale of insights work, using approved tools responsibly and within company and regulatory standards — critically evaluating outputs and mitigating bias or inaccuracy.
  • Remain current on best practices, methodologies, techniques and emerging technology in the fields of research, data analytics and business intelligence.
  • Contribute to the development of team standards, tools and best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, Economics, Cognitive or Behavioral Science, or a related field is required; advanced degree (e.g., Masters) is preferred
  • 7+ years’ experience in insights, market research, business intelligence or related field is required.
  • Experience in healthcare or medical device industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Proficiency with modern analytics, visualization and AI-enabled insight tools (e.g., Power BI, text/NLP analytics); working knowledge of statistical methods.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and judgment skills with success in making actionable recommendations based on research findings and data analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights in a clear and effective manner to senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders.
  • This role requires fluency in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data concepts, including the ability to critically evaluate AI outputs, improve workflows using approved tools, identify and mitigate bias or inaccuracies, and communicate AI-driven insights clearly and responsibly to peers and managers.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, flexible and manages time effectively.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Maintains company quality standards; strictly adhere to safety requirements.
  • Experience with advanced analytics including familiarity with machine learning models, predictive analytics, and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, Studio).
  • Systems mindset — able to think about insight work as a connected, scalable capability rather than a series of standalone deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with technical teams (data engineering, analytics, IT, AI/ML) to translate business questions into operational solutions.
