Summary/Objective:The primary objective of the Business Development/Preconstruction Manager is to manage the sales process and resources that meet established contract award and margin targets.
Essential Functions:- Identify and develop client relationships to generate new business opportunities in target markets
- Work with the team to enrich current client relationships for repeat business opportunities
- Evaluate viability of project opportunities
- Collaborate with marketing to create, promote, and maintain presentation tools
- Promote ACI in the local marketplace and create positive brand recognition
- Lead the estimate, presentation and proposal process
- Follow up with proposals for feedback and negotiation of pricing
- Communicate contract terms to ACI Management team
- Meet or exceed annual contract award volume and margin targets
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:Required:- Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Business, or related field with a minimum of three years professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience in industrial / commercial construction environment
- Proven ability to establish and grow successful relationships with key decision makers
- Knowledge of conceptual estimating of HVAC, Plumbing and Process Piping
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
- Strong written and verbal communication, decision making, and problem solving skills
- Outstanding presentation and relationship building skills
- Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, to include MS Project, and Access
- Must have satisfactory driving record and be able to pass a drug screen
The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:
Work Environment:- Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
- Position may require visits to construction site
Physical Demands:- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines
Travel:- May require infrequent travel (typically not overnight)
Preferred:- Previous Business Development experience
- Knowledge of commercial and industrial sales processes
- Mechanical industry experience
- Prior military experience
- Knowledge of Commercial Construction Industry in the Roanoke Area
Final compensation will be determined based on experience, education, licensure, skills, and other relevant factors
