Job Description

The Technical Portfolio Manager/ Business Architect in PCS serves as a strategic liaison between Product, Business, Operations and Internal Technology teams for an assigned area of the PCS Customer/ Partner Experience. This individual will be responsible for meeting regularly with assigned areas to review backlog and active project requests, stay current on progress and assist where needed on any requirements conflicts. The Business Architects will ensure compliance with all processes and procedures associated with the intake, approval and tracking processes including the business case model, prioritization, approval processes, and reporting requirements throughout the life cycle of a product.

This Business Architect role is responsible for translating product/ experience vision and business needs into initiative and feature level requirements that can be transitioned to multiple platform and cross-functional journeys who need to work together to effectively build, test and deliver a cohesive end-to-end experience that meets the needs of our customers and strategic goals. The Technical Portfolio Manager / Business Architect will use a number of strategies like business process modeling, Event Storming, personas, story mapping, use cases and other refinement techniques to ensure requirements are well-framed, outcome oriented and consumable by multiple delivery teams who must create scalable and reusable solutions that are aligned to goals, strategies and enterprise standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Manage and maintain the Initiative and Feature backlog for assigned area of expertise from intake review through deployment.
  • Understanding how the assigned business unit/ experience functions, including upstream and downstream interactions and identification of the technology that supports the experience.
  • Refinement will include end-to-end user acceptance criteria that highlight key interactions, gaps, and risks that need to be considered.
  • Participates in and influences technical design approaches to ensure solutions meet business expectations for: Efficiency, Reuse, Scalability, and Long-term sustainability.
  • Monitor project progress for any risks or conflicts in requirements
  • Drive alignment between technical projects and business objectives.


Basic Qualifications
  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree with five to eight or more years of relevant experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Ability to relate business experience to upstream and downstream technologies
  • Strong communication and strategic thinking skills that can explain technology risks and gaps to non-technical leaders and strategic partners
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working experience in system development lifecycle, end-to-end business testing, information management, product and vendor evaluation, and enterprise systems/capabilities that support credit card platforms (Digital, Branch Banking, KYC, Customer Profile Management, etc.)
  • Deep knowledge of credit card life cycles (Marketing, Apply, Onboard, Engage, Use, Manage, etc.), initiative- and feature-level refinement elicitation, and workflow process modeling
  • Experience with Jira and Mural


Location Expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
