Job Summary
We are seeking a Business Analyst with expertise in financial workflows, tax, finance, audit, or accounting operations to support a large-scale tax system modernization initiative. This role is responsible for eliciting business requirements, analyzing current and future-state processes, performing gap analysis, supporting user acceptance testing, and collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise system modernization and a strong understanding of financial business processes and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate stakeholder workshops and meetings to gather, analyze, and document functional business requirements.
• Analyze current and future-state business processes and develop As-Is and To-Be process models.
• Develop functional requirements documentation for large-scale tax system modernization initiatives.
• Create and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs) throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform gap analysis to validate alignment between business requirements, existing processes, and proposed system solutions.
• Develop User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies, test cases, test scripts, and user stories.
• Coordinate UAT activities and validate that delivered functionality meets business requirements.
• Identify business process improvement and re-engineering opportunities.
• Create and maintain user flow diagrams, business process models, data flow diagrams, functional designs, and business documentation.
• Conduct user research to identify customer pain points, business opportunities, and digital experience improvements.
• Capture, prioritize, and document business requirements, expected behaviors, and associated risks.
• Collaborate with design teams to provide feedback on performance, customer experience, and security requirements.
• Identify project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and communicate issues to stakeholders.
• Coordinate activities between project managers, vendors, and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with technical teams to validate functional and technical requirements.
• Review defects and enhancement requests and ensure solutions meet business expectations.
• Participate throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, implementation, and post-deployment support.
• Manage requirement changes through established change control processes.
• Provide regular project updates and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis and software testing.
• Experience supporting tax, finance, audit, accounting operations, or financial workflow modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of requirements elicitation and requirements traceability.
• Experience developing test cases, test scenarios, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) documentation.
• Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Experience supporting Software as a Service (SaaS) implementations.
• Experience developing As-Is and To-Be business process models.
• Experience performing business analysis for software development projects.
• Ability to translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional requirements.
• Strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Proven ability to facilitate discussions and build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, Teams, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience implementing Salesforce applications.
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise system modernization initiatives.
• Knowledge of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) implementations.
• Experience supporting tax system modernization or government financial systems.
• Experience with financial reporting, tax regulations, audit processes, or accounting operations.
