Position Description: We are seeking a motivated, collaborative Business Analyst to join our growing CGI team supporting digital transformation initiatives for public sector clients in Sacramento, CA.
In this consulting role, you will work closely with client stakeholders, project leadership, developers, and cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise ERP and business application solutions that modernize government operations and improve the services agencies provide to citizens.
As a trusted advisor, you will play an integral role throughout the project lifecycle-from business process analysis and requirements gathering through solution design, testing, implementation, and post-production support. This position follows a hybrid work model, with work performed at both the CGI Sacramento office and client locations. Team members are expected to work onsite approximately three days per week within the Greater Sacramento area.
Your future duties and responsibilities:How you'll make an impactAs a Business Analyst, you will serve as the critical link between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring client needs are accurately translated into effective technology solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
* Partner with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements
* Analyze current business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend practical technology solutions
* Translate business requirements into functional specifications that support application design, development, and configuration
* Facilitate stakeholder workshops, discovery sessions, design reviews, and requirements meetings to drive project success
* Collaborate with developers, architects, quality assurance teams, project managers, and client leadership throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
* Produce high-quality project documentation, including business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, use cases, and solution documentation
* Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts to validate application functionality and business requirements
* Execute functional, system integration, and user acceptance testing while supporting issue resolution and defect management
* Support implementation, production deployment, and post-go-live activities by assisting end users, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a successful transition
* Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives that enhance system functionality, operational efficiency, and overall client satisfaction
* Effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining strong communication with project teams and client stakeholders
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:What you'll bring* Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
* 4+ years of Business Analyst experience supporting enterprise software implementation or technology modernization projects
* 4+ years of experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and functional requirements
* Experience developing business process documentation, functional specifications, and solution design artifacts
* Experience creating and executing software testing deliverables, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and user acceptance testing
* Experience supporting enterprise applications throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
* Strong understanding of business process analysis, systems analysis, solution design, and software testing methodologies
* Experience supporting enterprise applications in production, implementation, or application support environments
* Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both business and technical audiences
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams in a consulting or client-facing environment
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $69,200.00 $121,100.00.
